April Empties

Another month, another large pile of empties amassed!  I'm actually quite proud of myself for finishing off so much!
Neutrogena Visibly Clear Pink Grapefruit Daily Scrub (review here) - I didn't mind this, finding it quite gentle, although a little drying.  However I wouldn't repurchase.
Nina, Nina Ricci Body Lotion - receieved as part of a gift pack, it had a very strong scent.  As I often find with perfumed body lotions, it wasn't overly moisturising.  Wouldn't repurchase.
Tigi Dumb Blonde Shampoo - Love this and always have a tube on the go - I've already repurchased!
Lush Cinders Bath Bomb - this came as part of a Christmas gift set.  I like it but its not my favourite of the Lush Christmas bath bombs. I prefer the Abombinaball and Satsuma Santa!

Vaseline Essential Moisture Clean Feeling Body Lotion (review here) - a decent basic body lotion for normal skin but I prefer more heavy duty body butters. Wouldn't repurchase.
Marks & Spencer Spa Collection Ultra Energising Shower Gel - This came as part of a gift pack. It had a lovely minty menthol scent, great for waking me up in the morning.  Would maybe repurchase.
No 7 Cleanse & Care Eye Make-up Remover (review here)- really disliked this.  Would not repurchase.
Garnier Fresh Essentials Eye Makeup Remover - My staple eye make up remover.  I've already got two backups!
L'Occitaine Hibiscus  Hand Cream - I love L'Occitaine hand creams as they are rich and non-greasy.  Will certainly be looking at others in their range.
No 7 Quick Thinking Wipes - I always pick these up when the £5 off Boots vouchers are floating about.  I don't think they are worth the £7.50 full price though.

Charles Worthington Full Volume Shampoo (review here) - again a decent highstreet shampoo which cleansed my hair and left it feeling shiny but sadly didn't deliver on volume.  May repurchase.
Laura Mercier Full Blown Mascara in Black (review here) - Really liked this natural-looking, lengthening mascara.  I will certainly be repurchasing once I get through my current mascara stocks!
Bobbi Brown Touch up Stick in Warm Sand - my everyday concealer, I have already repurchased.

March Favourites

This will be a quick post this month as I haven't really been using many new products, although I have been using a lot of old ones up.  Plus I am still feeling the after effects of a long day with lots of wine at a friend's wedding yesterday!  Thank goodness it is a short week this week - I can't wait for a four-day weekend!

Estee Lauder Pure Colour in Crystal Baby - review here
This has been my go-to shade for those days when I just can't think if what lipstick to wear.  It imparts only a bare minimum of colour but helps to give a more groomed appearance.

OPI Holland Collection, Kiss Me on My Tulips - review here
I liked OPI's Holland collection and I wore this plum / fuchsia hybrid quite a few times over the past month.  The quality of OPI polishes is, as always, superb and I love the mini bottles as I never finish a full one.
Daniel Sandler Watercolour Blush in Flush
A fab blusher which gives a gorgeous, soft pink dewy look.  This was my first watercolour blush and I am intrigued to try some of the others.  A review and swatches of this will be coming up later this week.

The Body Shop Chocomania Body Scrub - review here
Despite the fact that this scrub can cause a right old mess if you are not careful, I love this as it is sufficiently 'scrubby' whilst feeling very moisturising and the smell is amazing.  It is a love it or hate it scent though so I would recommend having a sniff of it before purchasing.  I think this is limited edition but itshould be available in stores until June.

Charles Worthington Full Volume Shampoo and Conditioner - review here
A great shampoo and conditioner that when used daily give sufficient volume to the hair, without weighing it down. They have not replaced my Tigi Dumb Blonde but I am very impressed with their performance, especially for the price.

What have been your favourites this month?

Review: Charles Worthington Full Volume Shampoo and Conditioner

When I visited my parents last month, I stumbled upon the Charles Worthington Full Volume Shampoo and Conditioner whilst I was having a root around the bathroom (does anyone else really enjoy having a nosey through other people’s bathroom products?!). I used these for a week and enjoyed using them so much, I purchased my own when I returned home!

Charles Worthington products have been around for ages and I’m sure that in the past, I have dallied with them occasionally.  The Full Volume range was new to me though and when there was an offer in Boots of any two products for £6, I snapped them up!

The shampoo claims to be ultra-light, helping to optimise the hair’s fullness, washing away impurities and providing hydration, leaving it feel fuller and thicker.  After using it, I certainly found my hair to be easily cleansed of all products and residue, and it didn’t weigh down my locks.
I used the conditioner on the mid-lengths to the ends of my hair and was relived to find it didn’t leave my hair feeling limp and lank as many conditioners do. It left my hair feeling shiny and manageable without any tangles, and I was actually quite impressed with it as many conditioners are too rich for my fine hair and leave it feeling heavy and often slightly oily by the end of the day.

Verdict
For the price, these two products do a very good job of keeping my hair in a manageable condition and although they do not provide extreme volume, they do help my hair to look thicker and fuller, giving more body without weighing it down.  I loved how shiny my tresses looked too!  There are certainly other products in the range which I will be looking into such as the Texturising Spray and Big Bounce Spray!
