Review: A-England Tristam

This is the second of the polishes that I have tried from A-England and it is truly a stunner!

Tristam is a dark blue polish with subtle sliver flecks, which make it glimmer and shimmer like a starry night!  I have used three coats in all of these pictures, although you could get away with two and it would still be beautifully opaque.

Application, as with Guinevere which I reviewed here, is great and the polish flows easily onto the nail – no thick and gloopy polish here!

I have done a quick comparison with a couple of other blues in my collection and Tristam appears to be unique.  17 Magnetized polish in Blue is more of a petrol blue, less glossy, much duller and looks almost matte in the swatch.  Essie Smooth Sailing is noticeably a lot lighter, although it does have a subtle shimmer present.
Excuse the sloppy painting!

The only negative aspect I could find about this polish is that it does chip easily on me within a couple of days.  However I tend not to wear a top coat as I change my nail polish often, and I would imagine that a reliable top coat would rectify this.

Verdict
Aside from the issues with chipping, this polish was gorgeous and it is very unique.  I loved how the shimmer was smooth and not gritty, producing a shiny finish, and it was very easy to remove.  Following my experience with both Tristam and Guinevere, I now have my eye on a couple of the polishes from the new Legend collection to add to my stash!

    1. They have some very nice polishes, especially the holographic ones. Keep an eye out for discount codes, especially on facebook, as I got these at 1/3 off so for £6 instead of £9.
